Silverchair "Young Modern" [Review]Since I absolutely love every album that Silverchair has ever released, I must review their latest CD "Young Modern", because it deserves all the attention in the world right now. So, after a 5 year absence from making & releasing music, Silverchair finally got back together to release this new, dynamic album. I can definitely say, I had extremely high hopes hearing about this album, & it by far, kept my hopes soaring. Mr. Johns, & the crew, certainly didn't disappoint. They start off with the killer, up-beat track "Young Modern Station", which is clearly a very amazing song. It will definitely grab anyones attention from the start, & want the person to keep listening on. "Straight Lines" follows, which was their recent single, & I certain do dig this song just as much as the first one. "If You Keep Losing Sleep", definitely the best song on the entire CD in my opinion. The music makes me think of something along the lines of a musical circus to some extent. Just very up-beat, catchy, & meshed with amazing vocals. [Daniel will never fail me with those vocals]. As the CD goes along, I definitely dig every track for every line, guitar riff, musical influence, & the amazing vocals that Daniel lays out. Once reaching track seven though, "Waiting All Day", I can by far admit, this is the song I instantly hit 'repeat' on, & listened to it multiple times in a row. Daniel's vocals were just extremely well done, beautiful, & the musical melodies everything so perfectly. If you wanted to pick one song in the entire world that was aced to the max in perfection, it would be "Waiting All Day". The lyrics are beautiful, & I think the bridge & chorus, can definitely get stuck in anyones head for a repeated amount of time, if not, for weeks. It happens to me all the time. Every other track past that point still lives up to my every expectation, & as it closes with "All Across The World", I almost get emotional with the fact that I realize, it's the end. I wished the CD was 20 tracks, because I'm sure there is so much more that they could have laid out after their 5 year absence. But, I can definitely say, I'm 'waiting all day' for their next release, & I'll definitely be waiting all the time with patience on their next release.. We can only hope, it won't be 5 years ago, because then, my patience would wear thin, haha. Tracklisting::: [1] "Young Modern Station". [2] "Straight Lines". [3] "If You Keep Losing Sleep". [4] "Reflections Of A Sound". [5] "Those Thieving Birds // Strange Behaviour". [6] "The Man That Knew Too Much". [7] "Waiting All Day". [8] "Mind Reader". [9] "Low". [10] "Insomnia". [11] "All Across The World". There is also a Special Edition of this CD from what I heard has bonus tracks, & also a 'Making Of 'Straight Lines' Music Video'. I shall be checking that out, & reviewing that separately once I get my greedy little hands on it, haha. Thank you, & I hope you all check out Silverchair, & their amazing-ness. I'm positive, if you enjoyed the trails that "Neon Ballroom", & "Diorama" followed, you'll LOVE "Young Modern". {Billiam}
